Born in the People's Republic of China, King Wu left the country during the Cultural Revolution in 1971 by fleeing (actually swimming) to Hong Kong. While he regularly photographs in and around Washington State and other Western U.S. locations, King remains highly interested in his homeland, having visited China 19 times since 1981.
